Hi

As the title suggests, I'm looking for a device that can both operate a site-to-site VPN (10 remote users) and has integrated VoIP capability.

Now, I'm a business VoIP numpty (I have VoIP at home with Vonage but that doesn't require the same kind of knowledge) so I have no idea if such a device even exists. Can anyone help? I'm also potentially looking for someone to install it for us too.

Cheers,

roadie.

Depends on the VOIP standard.

For SIP to traverse a normal NAT router it needs to be able to see a STUN server to manage the connection.

If your VOIP setup has a STUN server NAT is transparent to SIP

to be honest, you dont want to run your VoIP over the same VPN as your data traffic - you'll end up with bad latencies.

Your better off with 2 seperate VPN concentators, unless you have QoS methods in place to minimise the latency for the RTP traffic...

Thanks for the responses.

We tend to use SonicWALL kit and they have an architecture diagram as follows:

Am I correct in thinking something like Asterisk would be suitable as the VoIP server and does anyone do this kind of thing professionally?
