Sky digibox / Freeview
Discussion
I just discovered that I can not get freeview at my new flat, therefore, am I right in saying that I can use a sky digibox to recieve freeview through the (communal block) satalite dish? I don't want to and can't afford proper sky at the moment.
If so, do I need a special card for the digibox?
Cheers,
Pete

if you can get hold of a sky digibox then you can pay Sky a one off £10 for a free to air card which will get you more or less all the channels you can get on Freeview plus a few more......Men & Motors!! You should be able to get Freeview through the communal aerial if its any good.

It seems Banbury is the 2% of the population that can't get freeview...
I'm going to have a look on ebay for the required digibox and free-card, or maybe wait until someone else in the block gets it working first.
Thanks
Pete
I have a sky plus box with no subscription, using old sky plus card (dating back to when I subscribed).
I get most of the Freeview channels plus Men & Motors but not E4, More4, uktv History or FTN - not sure that I'm missing much
, but would I get these if I bought one of the free to air cards mentioned above?

Aha, thanks. I spent ages trying to find that info- d'oh! Confirms what I thought; I'd get no more than I get now.
