Video Streaming

[wn3]

Anyone know of a cheap (ideally free) solution for video streaming using a webcam? I want to be able to make sure my house and wife are safe when i work night shifts, so want to set up a webcam looking out over the front of my house.

I have been able to get it to capture an image every few seconds and upload it to my webspace. In turn, I've knocked up a webpage which refreshes every couple of seconds, but - I want to make it stream!!

Answers on a postcard, please....

Cheers!!

Windows Media Encoder will do it, allthough its a bit of a CPU hog while it's running

www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/forpros/encoder/default.mspx

Must admin I havent used the new version, but the last version I used did have the capability to translate a webcam into an mms:// stream. As long as works internet lets you access mms:// streams you're golden.

Edit: Looks like you want the plain version, not studio edition.
