My parents have asked me if I want to chuck mine away, as they are moving house.

A quick look on Ebay and I was shocked to see how little the go for. Less that £10 it seems, even those with lots of games!

I spent most of my GCSE years playing on IK+, Lemmings, Xenon II Megablast, Lotus Esprit Turbo Challenge, Silkworm, Turrican 2, Golden Axe, Stuntcar racer, Megalomania, Pinball dreams... the list goes on.
In fact, when I visited Monaco last year I walked the "track" and it was exactly as I remembered it from playing Formula 1 GP on my Amiga more than 10 (or 15?) years ago.

I'm tempted to get it working and try some of these, if I can remember how to start it up. Might even be worth buying some games and joysticks while they are so cheap. Surely this will be a classic one day?

It's a classic now, just not worth anything as there are so many around. That and the fact that you don't actually need an Amiga to play the games.

Yeah- Don't give it away or sell it. I did that with ZX Spectrum +3- oh yes, the disc drive... and regretted it!

Whilst original machines are always nice to have. The "retro gamming" market died a while ago mainly due to solid emulation and an abundance of ROM images floating around the internet. Not much point having an A500 when your PC can pretend to be one (and a NES, SNES, Atari ST, 2600, N64, Master System, Mega Drive, Saturn, Dreamcast, etc) perfectly. I've not looked recently but PS2 and xbox emulation was comming along nicely as was Gamecube apparently.

Zool was great (although the Chuppa Chups references grew tiresome).

Superfrog was fantastic though.

Hmm...tempted to hunt down WinUAE and go for a wander down memory lane.

(WinUAE being a PC based emulator for the Amiga for anyone that's not aware of it)

(eta - theaxe beat me to it - missed that earlier)

Yeah, I've got the same model and the same memories. I used to actually fire the thing up a couple of times a year and play the old games.

I also had a look around on ebay. Mine is store away again hoping to have a working model worth something some day when the start dying out.

Stunt Car Racer; what a game, what a cracking game. I won many season's worth of F1 Gp (both games by the same bloke, can't rememebr his name at the mo it will come to me later).

What a computer. Anyone remember Shell? hehe

I was in the middle of the pecking order at school.

We had an Amstrad CPC6128 - the disk drive, not the tape - below my mate with the Amiga but ABOVE my mate with Spectrum 128. We took the piss relentlessly.

Some of the Amiga games prove that graphics mean squat. Versus today's modern almost-real graphics, they are of course poles apart; however the GAME PLAY in the amiga games is great. I spend AGES playing stunt car racer at my bro's house (he's got an emulator on his PC)

When I'd had enough of my super powerful Amiga 1200 I managed to sell the think with a dot matrix printer for £450! I set the price being cheeky but my sales patter sold it, I was about 12.
