Hi guys, hope someone can help me out here.

I have a Fujitsu Siemens laptop, it is 2 years old and never had a problem with it, until about a fortnight ago that is. I switched it on and it was dead, absolutly nothing. Other half had a looked, told me that I had 'broken' (with a captial F) my battery. He took the battery out and we ran it off the power cable all day, worked fine. Then shut it down, but battery back and hey presto, not a problem, booted up just fine.

Used it on battery power till the battery ran down, then reverted to mains power to use laptop and recharge battery.

Been working great ever since, then this morning, turned it on and the same happened, tokk the battery out and booted up normally.

So is this a broken (capital F) battery? and if so, how much am i looking at for a new one? I did look on the Fujitsu Siemens site, but couldn't find my battery on there (code on batt is BTP-52EW)

Over to you guys.........

Try feeding something like "Fujitsu laptop BTP-52EW" in to google, you'll need to sift through the on-line retailers selling Fujitsu laptops themselves but you should spot one or two parts vendors or people telling you want a compatible part number form another place is.

To be honest though if removing the battery and replacing the battery resolves the problem, it might be that the contacts on either the pack or inside the laptop need cleaning or adjusting slightly.
