Hello All,

Has anyone managed to get Open Office 'Base' to connect to a MySQL back end on a windows system?

I'm trying to set up a database of electronic componoents using MySQL but i want a decent graphical front end. I've tried to set up DaDaBik but had no sucess with that either. I'm a bit new to databases.

Can anybody either tell me how to connect to MySQL with open office, or recommend a good, easy to set up front end that I can set up to enter information and do searches on my database?

Thanks in advance,

Regards,

Scott

As you're on a Windows system you could use Access as a front end to MySQL. Just set up an ODBC connection to MySQL and then use Access to connect to it.

Tried DB manager, looks like a nice bit of kit but i just cant work out how to edit the data in my tables or create a form? is it possible to do it with this software or is it purley for managining and creating tables as opposed to editing the data in them?

Thanks in advance,

Scott
