What do I need to print wirelessly?

I've got a 'dongle' for my laptop USB port so can I buy something to plug into the printer's USB port that is Bluetooth compatible?

Printer is a Dell photo 924.

Ta.

Spooky - that guy is thinking what I'm thinking and even has the same usename!

Been working too hard recently.

So anyway - I don't think that USB adapter will plug into a printer USB port as it looks like it has a PC standard 'flat' USB plug on it.

Any other adapters around?

You need the printer adapter:
www.blueunplugged.com/products/HP-BT1300-Bluetooth-Printer-Adapter-4083.asp
(you use a USB printer cable to link from the USB plug on the adapter to the printer). A HP product may not be very happy linked to a Dell printer (but it may well work just fine).

An easier (and possibly cheaper) way might be to get a wireless (as in WiFi) print server, or, if you have a broadband router which is near your printer then use a wired ethernet print server, plugged into the router. You can even get routers with print servers built in - I use an old SMC one and it works just fine.

If you're willing to replace your router, this will allow you to plug your printer into the router and print wirelessly...

If your printers already got an ethernet port, then this will do the job as well....
