Yes, I pick my mail up via IMAP so I can get it on desktop, laptop and palmtop without mucking about with synchronisation.

If you go into your Control Panel and then from there login to your domain, in the Site Administrator the details are at the top.

You use the same servers for IMAP that you do for POP, you just set outlook to be an IMAP account.

Should be mail.yourdomain.tld

i wish i knew about IMAP on reg1 before. So great to not have to sync everything now.
Just out of interest, is there a mailbox size limit?

So this IMAP thing, do I use it instead of POP, and does my webmail change at all?

Just choose to connect via IMAP instead of POP3, doesnt affect anything as it was there all the time anyway

IMAP does leave the mail ON SERVER tho, so it means you can rapidly run out of disk space

In Outlook you have to add a button to your toolbar.

If you hit delete on a message it puts a strike through it.

The button you want to be adding to the toolbar is 'Purge Deleted Messages' which will remove the struck messages from Outlook.

POP3 downloads the mail to you locally
IMAP lets you keep the mail on server and read it from the server, this means you can read the same mail from many different devices as it's always left on server.

POP3 means you always have space on your account at the expense of only being able to download the mail to one device (not strictly true as you can set your devices to 'leave a copy of the mail on server'
IMAP means you always have the mail on server but you lose disk space storing it there.

So if I want to go for this option the "domain parking" option would be the wrong one then!

Thanks

Domain parking = a Domain only, no hosting no nothing.

If you want an email / web server then you need a VDS..

Is it possible to upgrade from domain only to vds? There's a .co.uk I'd quite like but not sure what to do with at the moment...
