11g is faster than any current broadband solution. So it will cope with the speed.

However Wireless and P2P applications don't generally play well together. Peer 2 Peer is just that, if your connected to say 100 people in a swarm then the wireless system needs to manage those 100 connections, add on top sufring, e-mail, more P2P activity and quite quickly the WiFi grinds to a halt even if your not using max speed. Also managing all those connections tends to spaz out cheapo routers, but other than rebooting one a day/week that's no biggie.

You'd be better off using a wired connection for P2P and then swapping to WiFi when your not downloading the latest Linux ISO.

WiFi CAN do it, just don't expect brilliant results. Poking around I'd suggest your in 50/50 territory, it'll either work brilliantly or be dog slow and the only way to tell is to see what happens when you crank the beast up.

Ain't computers fun?

Get a GOOD wireless router. It's mainly down to the gruntiness of the CPU of the router. I had a siemens router that would torrent for 5 minutes before locking up. The basic BT router was god for about 10 minutes. Dlink about the same. Never had a problem with the Draytek router, and we knoecked the hell out of the link with 5 clients merrily downloading 24/7.

Don't get a BT router, they're really bad. We've got a relatively devent one for our visitors' adsl line at work, and it needs restarting daily to keep it running OK. Netgear are good quality for wireless kit.

yes

Slightly different price bracket, totally different class.

I've put loads of 'em in, excellent and well worth the extra in every respect.
