Evening all (or is it just ThePassenger in tonight? )

I'm helping my neighbour out at the moment - he uses the domain xxx.fsnet.co.uk which was originally freeserve, then wanadoo and now orange. He has 2 email addresses, brian@xxx.fsnet.co.uk and mary@xxx.fsnet.co.uk.

Brian has a Windows account, as does Mary on the same PC. They each use outlook, and each windows profile is setup to access outlook and access either Mary or Brian's email account with a profile in each outlook.

However, both outlook accounts download all emails to @xxx.fsnet.co.uk addresses. This is a problem as someone is spoofing their domain name to send out emails, and they are receiving all the bounced emails.

I've installed mailwasher to help weed out the problem emails, however this does not explain why the email profiles are able to download all the emails to the domain - can anyone explain this?

Hmm. ok.

So
brian@fsnet and mary@fsnet two separate e-mail accounts are all being downloaded by a single pull on Lookout.

Questions:

1. Are you sure that Lookout is only doing a single pull per profile (i.e. it's only got the details of brian@fsnet stored)?

2. Does the ISP operate a catchall system? So that if I send a message to Twonk@fsnet it'll appear in their e-mail box? If so, then the pertinent question is "Did you set up two e-mail accounts?".

3. If their is no catch all AND two separate addresses in use AND Lookout is properly configured to only do one pull per profile... it's time to talk to the ISP.
