I have to run some 3D stress modelling programmes (also a few other programmes like AutoCAD) and these can't run on the Mac OS. No fear, my trusty MBP can run windows!

But... Is it best to obtain bootcamp and do it that way, or run an emulator programme therefore still being within the Mac OS..?

Does anyone have experience either way..?

My model is the 15", 2.1GHz, 1Gb RAM model. I may consider slapping an extra Gb RAm on it though as these programmes are getting hungry...

Bootcamp would be the best bet, it will require coming out of OS X and booting in to Windows (effectively) which will give you 100% of the systems resources. Running OS X -> Emulation -> Windows -> Autocad will work, however the performance hit will be quite noticeable as you will have two complete OS's running along with the emulation layer (plus any additional emulation Windows deploys such as WoW16).

And yeah, you know the system need as much memory as it can get for those beasts

Alot of CAD programs won't run in emulation because it doesn't give you access to the graphics card.
