I need some software that will record a line-in source to mp3 which is easy enough however I want to be able to define start and stop times so I need it to work like a pvr effectively although I don't need it to change channels.

What I want to achieve is to record programs from 6 music to mp3 files which I can then write to my mp3 player. I know I can download the programs from their website but the quality is even worse than dab.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Mark

Tcl, Snack (audio extension for Tcl) and LAME (mp3 encoder) would be one combination that would do the job quite neatly. I'm assuming we're talking about Windoze here?

Tcl the language? It's an idea but I don't want to write my own on this occasion.

Scripting language, yes. Probably less than 10 lines for the whole job. Add another 10 if you want a GUI for setting start/stop times.
