Just spent an hour and a half scuffling around under desks and in cupboards testing all the sockets in our new office over the road. I had plugged a router into 4 patch ports at a time in the server cupboard and was using a laptop to plug into each socket around the building and ping the router to check the connection.
Every single socket worked absolutely fine - chuffed. No need to repatch the cabinet, figure out which cable went where etc.
Plug a few PCs and a printer in to a couple of sockets ahead of our move this weekend (rarely used stuff that I thought I'd get over the road early) and they resolutely fail to connect.
Unplug, replace laptop. Works fine.
Change cables.
Repatch in the cabinet in the cupboard
While there, notice an antenna sticking out of the router....
