Right

Are there any monitoring tools out there that can

accept SNMP traps from mulitple apps
accept and update status displays via email

and loads of other stuff..

basicall i want a semipre build monitoring tool to deploy and customise to provide a single place to collect all the different methods of monitoring that are being actively carried out by various scripts etc..

anyone got any suggestions?

Hey Rich,

Take a look at Samurize

I think it does exactly what you want. I believe you can design paanel that are displayed on you desktop, you then add different kinds of monitors t othe panels and they are updated by the backend engine.

I played with it a while ago and was quite impressed. It all glues together using text based config files, of which there are now literally thousands to download.
