Internet explorer and pdf files

IE 6 won't open pdf files for some reason.

Do I need to reinstall Acrobat or can I set this up on IE menus?

re-install Acrobat to start with..

Adobe Whatever > Edit > Preferences > Internet > Display PDF in Browser

You do need Reader as a minimum installed.
