Right,

When I open up the internet, I now get a page directing me to a search engine which I have no idea what it is... I cannot enter in the address bar anything, it just takes me back to the same search page. I can access the places in my favorites, but that is all..

So, anyone know of a free package (with web link!) which can kill this?
I have tried

Ewido, Fixware out, Spybot. None even detect a problem !

I take it you've gone into your internet preferences and edited your homepage?

Assuming you have, and then rebooted and it's reset itself, it sounds like a rootkit virus. I had one a couple of years back did exactly the same.

Ok, I have rebooted, and now have Google as my homepage again.. So seems to have worked?

At which point, very large virtual pint to you chaps, and better yet, if you are heading to a mid essex meet at any time in the future, let me know, and I can convert it to a real pint !!

Also, how do I prevent that happening again? Or is it an ISP issue?

Right, I rebooted the PC, and it all works !! Everything is fine. My DNS bit now stays as it should.

I thought I had already posted a thank you, and a virtual pint to you sir, or a very real one if you attend Mid Essex or Suffolk TVR Meets !!

Any software I can use to prevent this happening again? Was it an ISP issue?
