For some reason, some of my movies that i have done will no longer play. Not sure why. It looks as though they have 'changed' into a RAR file. Any ideas?

That is 'odd' either someone has renamed them or compressed them with RAR.

Download WinRAR and once installed right click on a movie and select "Extract here". If WinRAR complains it's not a valid RAR file then clear the warning box, select the file, press F2 and delete the .rar bit for .avi

If the movies are .rar, .r01, .r02 and so on then they're almost certainly compressed.
