Having to uase a borrowed pc to get some work done sharpish, and when ever i try and move woprds to a different page, it decideds that the whole ling document has to get moved around, messing up the order of everything... why? all i want to do is move four words from the bottom of one page into the ign big gap at the top of the next page, but it insists on moving all the images in the document to where it wants them if i do.... how do i make it stop? aside from getting my mac fixed...

resize the images, or change the margins if your desperate to fit the images on the page.

Is it an e-mailable document? if so send it to me and I'll see if I can sort it and tell you how I did it if I can.

They're probably tied to the text you're moving. Change the image properties to eitehr in front or behind text.

I disagree. Word is the most wonderful piece of software. Made my living from using it for most of my life.
It sounds like you need to select the picture which is on the page and select format > picture > Layout > tight

Things will flow properly and you'll be able to drag the picture.

Also check widows and orphans in format>paragraph> line and page breaks.

Now if you want to see rubbish software try using powerPoint.
