when entering a phone number in to a column and dragging downwards to fill in more cells;
how do I keep the first digit i.e. the 0 from disappearing?

and

how do I stop the number increasing as I drag it down?

It's really getting to me now as I've been trying to sort this for to long now.

Cheers

Also to prevent the 0 disappearing you can format the cell as text.

yeah I would do that but i need to copy about 120 nunmers into about 600 cells each

Ctrl-C the cell to copy (it will have a dotted line around it.
Left mouse button down in first destination cell then drag as far down as you like then release mouse button.
Ctrl-V to paste in all the cells.

Put an apostrophe in as the first character before the number

You can also use Ctrl + D for "fill down"
