DivX player w. SD slot

Shot in the dark here... anyone got any clue why it's not reading my 2GB SD card? What it should do is display a listing of the files on the card when you press 'select' next to the slot. What it actually does is display a little 'no entry' sign for a second then looks for a disc again.

Have tried recreating the partitions as fat16, fat32 - no change. put different files on, no change. Tried various combinations of turning it off/on again with the card in and buttons pressed. Even read the manual

have you checked for firmware updates? i've experienced diffrent devices working/not working with cards over 1GB seems like a big step that some devices just can't cope with without an update.
