Since I downloaded the new explorer, when viewing web pages and trying to scroll down with mouse-wheel, instead of smoothly scrolling down the page jerks down repeatedly (even if i stop scrolling) until I reach the bottom of the page. Really annoying and pointless.
Is there a setting I can change to make it normal again or is it shit?

ah. I bet you upgraded to SP2 at the same time... I had the same problem - it was simply because SP2 didnt support my graphics card, have a look at your settings to check..

yes Graphics Card problem probably. Had this so many times.. if you 'drag' a window around aswell it will probably be a bit jerky. The same when playing video files.
Reinstall your drivers? That might cure it..

If the above symptoms aren't there and you can play video etc fine.. www.firefox.com

erm. sorry.

In a nutshell, the problem is with your graphics card rather than IE.

Have you recently upgraded to Windows Service Pack 2?

Rings a bell. Why would that suddenly make my graphics card shite?

In Tools - Internet Options - Advanced, make sure there's a tick in 'Use Smooth Scrolling', and also check the 'Wheel' tab in your Mouse settings in the Control Panel - it'll either be set to scroll a number of lines, or a screen at a time.

as i said, i had the same problem when i upgraded to service pack 2.

in a nutshell, it doesnt support your graphics card, you need to buy a new one. On the postitive side, if you dont do a huge amount of gaming, a 20 quid card would do fine.

I upgraded mine a while ago to a pretty modern one which simply must be supported by windows (Radeon 9500). It is too mainstream not to be compatible!

Try downloading the latest drivers from manufacturers site. Often the ones in Windows Update are scensoredite

I had an 18 month old GEforce2 card that wasnt supported.. but as suggested, download the latest drivers from the manufacturer and see how you get on!

Never, EVER use the drivers Windows Update suggests... everytime I've tried they've been wrong (cue much annoyance getting Sound, Modem and such going again).
