ADSL/Internet problem with some sites !
Discussion
Ok, this is really annoying me now. For the last few days I seem to have intermittent internet access to some sites. I turn on my router and I can see a few UK based sites fine (including PH luckily!). Others I can see bits of the site but other pages just sit loading and never get there. Most sites (google included) just sit loading and never finish. I dont get page not found the pages just sit loading forever.
I can ping all the sites ok, just cant load the pages.
I have tried going back to IE6 from IE7 - no change.
I have tried using two other PCs on the same network. Same problem.
I have checked the DNS entries etc all ok.
Dead router or internet problem ? Any ideas ? When I can get the netgear site to work I will d/l new firmware for the router to see if that helps...

Griffin is the provider - but I think the router is the problem now. I cant log in to it anymore, wont accept my password and looks like PH is just about the only site I can access!
Its a netgear 814 old kit so probably time for an upgrade anyway. Ive been looking for a reason to upgrade from wireless B to G so this is the perfect opportunity I think !
edited to add - Download new netgear firmware through a laptop/3G data link, upgraded the router and hey presto everything is working. Only time will tell how reliably of course....

ok, I finally managed to get onto the ISP support site and guess what...
Currently, you may be experiencing problems accessing certain sites on the internet, due to a network routing problem
Our engineers are currently investigating the issue, please do bear with us and apologies for any inconvenience caused during this time.
Update: Some customers may find that setting their routers MTU to 1452 or less will resolve this problem
