Why does my widescreen tv cut off the edges of my picture, espescially when using the 360, both are set at 16:9, I have had this problem on different tv's with different feeds, is there a way to adjust it internally inside the TV, is there some sort of test page on sky digital so that I can see the size it should be.
If anyone knows Test Drive unlimited it cuts off down the side if the GPS thing And I'm sure it's to narrow in hight to!

Any help would be most help full!

Look for any settings anywhere that include overscan... and experiment.

It may be because your TV is trying to adjust the aspect ratio automatically and failing. Or otherwise it's adjusting automatically when watching sky, then when you switch to xbox it's retaining the last setting.

There should be a button on your TV remote to adjust this, it will probably cycle between 4:3, 14:9, 16:9, Panoramic, Zoom, Auto, etc.

Press until the desired result is shown.

When you say pictures, do you mean photos or video or games?

Terrible thing this. You dont say whether your TV is a CRT or not? I am assuming it is because your problem is a commmon sympton of overscan. This is because the image size displayed is not always the same size (even if it say 16:9) as what the CRT can display. This came about because different manufacturers have different cases and slightly different Tubes. the console manufacturer has to pick a size and it wont be yours. Even if you had a LCD or Plasma sometimes it misses a bit. However there is light at the end of the tunnel (maybe not for you though), most PC graphics cards has tools to overcome this and ajust the image size projected (no not resolution) but stretches or shrinks the actual image a bit bot vertically or horizontally. I am not sure whether the 360 does though.

Yeah, it is CRT, And yeah it is moving pics, dvd, games ect.

I have done some hunting for service menus that say they can do what you mention, BUT for my set it says turn off tv then turn it back on whilst holding down the menu button on the tv, I only have the power switch, the stand by button volume + & - and Channel up and down!

Is there somesort of device you can plug into the scart lead that lets you adjust it??

Is there not an Auto perspective mode?

On the face of it, it sounds like the Xbox isnt set to 16:9

No auto mode (well there is kind of, detects between 16:9 zoom, ect) I select 16:9 manually And the 360 is definitely on 16:9, I've tried it on 4:3 and that didn't sort it.
Everything is set to 16:9, The picture size is close, just cuts about 1 inch off the bottom and about 2 off the sides!
Might have to do some random button pushing to find the service menu!
