Not sure if anyone's interested, but I got a cool add-on for Firefox, that basically allows you to open up websites in IE, but within a tab in Firefox - quite handy especailly if a site won't work or display in FF but you don't want to open IE.

wherever the thread is, does anyone know how to stop an annoying firefox problem - namely a box popping up randomly to say that flash.ocx is missing? Even when firefox isn't even open?

cheers..

Change your screensaver to one of the stock ones that came with windows. That should fix it, but if the message persists, uninstall flash, then reinstall it.

Wut R web folders? Do you mean the "shared documents folders" thing in MSN Live or something else?

Anyway, regardless, the IETab renders the selected page using IE's engine so if it works in IE it should well work in IETab (same with any ActiveX stuff as well I'd guess).

Web Developers may be interested in the developer toolbar

https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/60/

Very useful tools like turn javascript onoff, resize browserwindow size etc, validate css, html, links etc You can also outline tables, block elemensts, inline elemenst etc. speed test, loads of info about document and allows you to play with images, cookies, forms. Has been a god-send on my last project.

Ah, will try that, thanks. It's a problem on the gf's PC, on which I installed FF because of the annoying runonce blue screen on IE7 after install (which wasn't a problem with the beta version oddly... and a problem which I eventually got rid of on my own PC when moving from IE7 beta to the proper release, but never managed to shift it on hers)

firefox is better anyways, although i have heard that the latest version of ie is pretty good.

one good add-on that i like is cooliris preview, which allows you to look at the link before clicking on it and going there. the linked page opens in a preview window. excellent for browsing ads for cars or jobs if you want to quickly see a pic or some details before deciding whether to click on the link or not and a very quick way to work your way through a bunch of links.
