I have a dell 17" flat panel on the desktop and the monitor has stopped working. All thta happens is the green light which indicates power/computer connection is flashing and nothing except a small flicker happens. I have checked/cleaned all the connections. Can anyone help?

Thanks
Woody

If you turn the PC on from cold, does the screen come on then go off again after a bit? Or does it not come on at all?

Worth trying the screen on another PC too.

Have you got the correct input selected? Sounds like it's in a power-save mode so maybe you knocked a button?

I had the same problem, the monitor started turning itself of with increasing occurance with the light on the button flashing each time it did.

I went and bought a nice Samsung 21"

I've managed to kill an LCD monitor before by exposing it to cold temperatures (around freezing, i imagine), the room it's in isn't cold is it?

The monitor does not turn on at all and no settings have been changed. I guesss it'll be new monitor time then

Not so fast...

right click on the desktop and go to graphics properties, select extended desktop...

Edited to say, that's Graphics properties, not the normal properties...

(works on my Dell 19" anyway...)
