Hi All
i was selling a psp on ebay but they then cancelled the auction and said
The current release date for the PlayStation 3 in the EU is not until
March 2007. Therefore, listing PlayStation 3 consoles and software is
not currently permitted on eBay.co.uk. Although PlayStation 3 consoles
and software are available in other countries such as the United States
and Japan, listings for consoles released outside of the EU are not
permitted on eBay.co.uk.
I brought the ps3 last week from china with the intention of selling quickly on ebay.
Its bran a brand new region free 60gb version with uk power cord.
If anyones interested, feel free to get in touch, can send pictures etc to prove ive got it, also collection is welcome.
cheers

Send Sony PS Europe a thank you letter since they're the ones putting the legal screws on ebay.
So much for FREE market trade, eh?
Remember, they also got a Japanese merchant to cease selling certain items (lik sang, IIRC) relating to PS2, IIRC.

PSP and sued in to oblivion. It is, AFIK, illegal to import Sony goods in to the UK which are not destined for this market. So your PS3.... it's technically hot according to Sony. Personally, I'd just hook it up and start playing.
If I buy a PS3 when in America next week, can I just plug it in over here and it'll work? I understand it might be wise to buy a transformer to downstep our 240v to 110v as well though.
Is the only issue going to be that I could only play US region games and US Blue-ray and DVD's on it?

Get it and check the writing on the power brick, often adapters are multivoltage but have a figure 8 or kettle lead with the appropriate plug on it. if it doesn't say 240v on it then you're going to need a transformer.
If Sony say the PS3 isn't region locked... I wouldn't belive them. Blue-Ray will probably (I've not looked) have regions codes the same as DVD did, this will in essence mean you have a Region 1 (or whatever) Blue-Ray player.
