Don't laugh ... but I can't get my PC into safe mode.

I want to use safe mode to install some software that needs to update some system files.

Got a mesh pc, F8 on startup should give me the boot options menu, but no, nothing.

Del will get me into the BIOS, works fine.

If it makes a diff, I have a wireless keyboard, but as mentioned, del works ok.

Any ideas ???

Thx in advance,
Martin

I thought F8 was the windows safe mode standard?Does the F8 key actually function when you've booted up? ie is it a faulty keyboard?

I thought so to, F8 works fine, and the I checked the Mesh website just to be sure.

I'll try Ctrl as previously suggested.

I don't think anyone actually knows when you're supposed to press it, just keep hammering it after it's checked for disc drives.

My keyboard has an 'F-lock' button which needs to be pressed before he F keys work, does yours have something similar?

You need to press it just after the BIOS boot screen
