Microsoft Generous?

[road2ruin]

Am I being silly or is Microsoft for once giving us something. I had to build a HTPC this week and decided to buy and install MCE. Its cheaper than XP Home and does what it says on the tin. When the package arrived I found inside an upgrade coucher for Vista Home Premium edition. Hmmmmmm. Checking online I found Home Premium will retail around £150.00!!!!!!!!!! So me paying £60.00 for MCE will now entitle me to upgrade to a £150.00 later release. Am I missing something?

I think you may have to pay extra costs if you look up vista on amazon it's explained there, but you still may save money.

perhaps bill gates has run out of places to stash his money? I mean there is only so much you can fit down the back of the sofa, in the biscuit tin and under the bed.

I think you still have to pay for the materials and p&p

I got MS Office (legally) this way for £17, as I have a work supplied pc, and work have an MSOffice licence

Just the cost of the media; there was so much bad press about the delayed consuemr releases of Office 2007 and Windows Vista that MS elected to smooth things over a little (and boost Xmas sales).
