I've found the whole Youtube site to have become incredibly slow since Google bought it.

I am unable to view any youtube videos at present (home computer). Seems to happen for a week or 2, then works OK again.

I'm currently getting a message saying "Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Macromedia's Flash Player. Get the latest flash player. "
but I haven't changed anything. This happened before, then (without me fixing anything) it worked again for a while.
I can only assume it's a glitch at the youtube end?

And without me doing ANYTHING different, or changing ANY settings, it's working for me again. Has to be a glitch on Youtube?

Is it possible for me to save (i.e. download) a YouTube clip to my computer, rather than just save the link? If anyone knows, please advise me Obi-Won!

Many choices.

Use Firefox and the Videodownloader extension
Use this website - http://keepvid.com/
Or this website - www.videodl.org/

all of the above forces you to download and save off the video as an .flv (Flash video) that Youtube uses. You need a flash player like Riva to play it. But if you want an Avi video that VLC or DivX player can play you can try this one.

This does an online conversion and gives you a download link to the converted Avi - http://vixy.net/flv_converter

I cant get to see any video on you tube either. All I get, when I click on a link, is a new tab with reams of script.
I'm using Firefox. I've d/l the latest flashplayer but still no joy. And I cant find anything in the Firefox options that needs changed.
Any ideas ?
