Moving winows from one HD to another
Discussion
My parents HDD is on its way out, few bad sectors etc. They've bought a new HDD which I've installed, and now I need to migrate from one to the other.
Rather than go through the faff of a complete re-install of the OS and software (including finding all my parents files which could be anywhere, and trying to get them to remember/find all their passwords etc), is there a way to take an image from one drive and copy it onto the other so it boots up and runs? They've got XP home.
Thanks

Norton Ghost.
Did the drive not come with any utils? They sometimes do.
Alternatively if you dont want to pay for Ghost theres bound to be an open source version thats just as good.

Nothing came with the drive. Quick google finds this tool though www.feyrer.de/g4u/ should do the trick. Completely forgot about Ghost.
Thanks.
