Looking to find out the wattage on a laser printer but getting nowhere fast.

Does someone have a colour small business laser they could look at and tell me what sort of watts it requires.

(The printers i have here dont show it. doh.)

Cheers

erm whats 4Amps? hehe

i'm trying to decide what size invertor i need for the van to run a laser printer off its 12v power supply. i've found one invetor ($29.00) for 400W with 800W burst.

watts = amps x volts so 4 x 240 = 960watts

I'd go for ink jet, My HP one uses a transformer with a 1amp 12volt output, Laser printers tend to be more thirsty!!

laser printers also tend to have a large initial startup rush which can freak out a UPS which is basically a battery powered invertor. So you may find it pops the invertor fuse.

not unless the invertor catches fire after you've used a six inch nail you had lying in the back of the van instesd of the fuse
