someone will correct my spelling but SpamBynes seems to be the recommended product for Outlook on a standalone machine. SpamBayes is what the OP wants:

Works a treat. Keeps my work mailbox (Me? The 13th Duke of Wimborne? Running Windows? At home? For anything other than games? With MY reputation?) spick and span.

Thanks CJ. I can never remember the bloody name of that thing.
I use SpamAssasin + RDJ... but then I do run my own main server

At home, I have a Linux box with Postfix and Courier running to serve IMAP mail to myself and Mrs Jameson. SpamAssassin is plugged into that, with a suitably brutally low threshold (I think I score as spam at 3.5 now). Mail is collected from POP accounts by getmail running from a cron job.

3 flat for me, Gentoo based version of QMailRocks, Courier with POP3-SSL, AV scanning from CLAM. I really should move to IMAP but I <james kirk voice>I.... Just... Can't... Be.... Bothered... Spock </ end JTK>
And yes I am aware 3 flat pretty much kills all AOL messages... that was the reason I set it so low
You should see my .htaccess, is' even more evil
