Hi all,

Having a nice stressfull friday like me?

Basicaly im trying to sort out a printing problem with this printer a user when trying to print is getting a printing error yet if i log on to his laptop as a diffrent user it will print fine. It show's as Size being 1 bytes/0 bytes in print que and just says Error - Printing.

So i decided i would check paper size and all that and it is all fine, so i ran cleanspl.exe from windows 2003 resource kit which totaly resets the print spooler of a machine back to default and all the printers and so on. I then decided i would rename the users profile in documents and settings and restart and log on as him and i'm still getting the same issue, the issue is with every printer now tho which is really baffelling me!

Any sugestions?

Regards
Liam

Uninstall and reinstall the printer driver. If its one of those cheapo GDI driver printers then I would to do a system restore to a point where it worked.

So its a per-user problem but even nuking the profile doesn't help? Denied.

Is it the same document that they're testing printing from different users with?

Permissions thing in the spool folders or on a driver file/registry entry? (try giving temporary local admin?)

Odd one!

Yeah very odd, im printing the test page as in from printer properties.

I cant see it being the spooler folder as it would be same for another user then.

I've set the user as local administrator and still the same.

It's confused the fluff out of me! I think it may end up as a reinstall and blast everything as it must be a registry issue.

One thing first that i can try is spyware scan and that..
