Apart from the sites on my favourites list... Very odd. It is perfectly quick at going to the sites on my favourites list, and working on links from within those, but if I type in a url at the top, it doesn't seem to do much. The world is spinning at the top, but there is no blue "loading" bar at the bottom...

Most odd. Any ideas guys??

Thanks,

Paul.

Very strange this. If I put in the http:// part of the address it works. Previously I could leave this out and just start with www. What has changed??

IE may have had one of it's little tantrums or your browser may have been hijacked by a nasty from a web site.

2 courses of action.

Re-Create your IE Browser Registry Entry - Cures lots of strange IE behaviour issues
1. Close down all your browser windows.
2. Run Regedit
3. Navigate to the HK_Current_User hive
4. Scroll down through the entries ang go to SoftwareMicrosoft
5. Highlight the Internet Explorer entry and press the right mouse button, and select Export. Save the entry to your desktop. You are just doing this for saftey.
6. Right mouse button again on the Internet Explorer entry and click delete. This will remove this section from the registry.
7. Close Regedit and then restart IE. Youy will notice that it will have returned to factory default layout, but your favourites will still exist. The restarting process will re-create the registry entry.

Run Spyware Doctor on your PC
1. Google for Spyware Doctor, I think there is a free version, I bought my own because it was good.
2. Download install and run.

Thanks for the comments guys. I'll try that regedit thing. It's a work laptop, so I might just give it to them to sort out when I'm in the office tomorrow. It took a ridiculous amount of time to start up and do anything at all just now. Once I'm in and up and running it seems to be working fine, no signs of spyware ie popups or anything..
