Have you install FFMPEG? If so have you made sure it's where Gallery2 is looking for it (you'll need to give the actual location of the file i.e. /var/www/hosted/dada/binaries/ffmpeg)...

Just checking the obvious

I'm pretty sure it's installed, but not to worry, i've figured out a different solution without using FFMPEG.

Let me know how you get on with it, if needs be, I'll task a support chap to look into the ffmpeg thing a little more, had a few requests over the last week for it.

What are you using as an alternative?

If you do need to use it again then:

Just do a "dbupdate" on command line and then run "locate ffmpeg" this will list ever file with ffmpeg in it's name.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I'm pretty new to this, and thought I had to use FFMPEG to put video files into the gallery. I now realise I didnt need it for that, and I could do it anyway, so i sort of gave up trying with the FFMPEG tool.

Well it's letting me add the vid files as I would a picture. It's then assigning it a generic thumbnail that i've uploaded. When you click on it, it simply says 'download video' and when you click on that it plays in media player.

i know it's not perfect as it doesnt play within the gallery browser windows, but it's fine for what it'll be used for.
