Anyone got any good recommendations for web hosting?

Personal use only - pictures and stuff mainly - I'm bored of using the free picture hosting sites and trying to fit into their requirements (esp, as the latest one hasn't reset my bandwidth usage for three months ... rolleyes).

So if I'm going to pay I thought I may as well have my own website, address and so on.

Also what domain name should I use, sadly tertius.co.uk and tertius.net are gone ...?

I thought maybe tertiusonline or tertiusnet ... but they don't seem to quite cut it somehow.

cheers all

OK. I'm starting to catch on ...

Can you tell me what the .me.uk domain is "meant" to be for? (I understand that actual adherence to it is a different thing ...)

A personal or individuals own domain name

.co.uk is meant for Companies
.com for Americans
.tv for Transvestites
.org.uk for organisations

Hope that helps.

I don't know of any in the market I'd happily put my name to recommending...

Windows Virtual hosting is so much more £££ to setup and maintain, and typically people on windows want MSSQL which again costs alot more.. as such the prices need to be substantially higher to make profit, but the market never likes high prices, so many providers are forced to drop their prices to compete against the *nix hosting companies, which obviously doesn't make fiscal sense, so they end up having to cut corners which invariably results in a degraded service to clients

No use to you I know

We do offer Dedicated servers from £49 a month tho

Thanks - I'd never come across .me.uk before - sounds perfect.

Oh, and thanks for clearing up .tv for me - I never really liked to ask ... laugh
