Hi,

On my trixbox server, I am having problems with the DHCP service it is running - in fact I do not want it to be running one at all. I can switch it off with the command /sbin/services dhcpd stop , which works fine until I restart the machine, when the service starts again. How do I permanently stop it?

If you have ntsysv installed (not sure if trixbox is sysv based at all I'm afraid), at a root prompt type "ntsysv" and untick the box next to dhcp. From the root prompt again, /etc/r.cd/init.d/dhcp stop should stop the running dhcp service. If you don't have ntsysv or it's not sysv, it gets trickier, but there may well be a GUI thing bobbin you can use.

Didn't get round to trying that, someone else got there first on a different forum. Thanks all the same, it's appreciated.
