what's it for? What pinouts do you need?

Do you know exactly what you want in terms of terminal type and connections? There are squillions of different connectors and different ways to wire them up, so you need a lot more detail if you're going to get what you want off the shelf.

Nope, can make no sense of it.

Sounds like you want an RS232C>RS422 interface cable but thats by no means anything other than a complete pluck out of the air guess.

Erm... S-Video to erm... well... 9pin's would bugger that idea up.

As the others have said, what you using it for and we'll be able to help.

Sounds like one of those times where they use a proprietary cable that nobody else has, then charge you £££ to buy one off them

it is for a laser range finder which collects various data including distance/height/slope

the cable required is to download data collected to a pda or laptop

serial in tx
serial out rx
remote trigger
ground

not bothered about remote trigger

model is made by the same people who make hand held speed guns

There are about a gazillion different pin configurations though, and that's before you start looking at the connections. Unless it's a standard cable, you've got quite a bit of research to do.

I assume he has the pin outs for the device since he listed them. It is possible that the CTS/RTS and DSR/DTR lines might have to be pulled together but I would think not as either RTS or DTR will be used for the remote trigger. I wouldnt have thought it would take more than an hour with a break out box to find out.
