Just downloaded last week's brilliant top gear as an AVI but now I can't play it ... I have tried my usual sipects that I have loaded Windows Media Player, Real Player, etc and I can get the sound no problem but no video? What am I doing wrong? Is there an alternate player I should use?

try winamp or VLC media player, both are excellent, winamp is more of a music player with some gret skins and plug-ins.
VLC or Videolan is a vid player for multiformats, and has regular codec downloads
