Hi guys, Bought a sealed copy of Norton 2006 internet security on ebay. Installed it last night (over and out of date 2006)
and got an install error. I then got a message saying that I could upgrade (no charge) to Norton 2007 which i accepted.
All installed ok and running fine with 365 days remaining, the only problem i've got is that it comes up with PROTECTION
UPDATE PROBLEM - PROTECTION UPDATES OUT OF DATE - TO ENSURE THAT YOU ARE PROTECTED FROM THE LATEST VIRUSES AND OTHER THREATS,
UPDATE VIRUS PROTECTION NOW. So what do I have to do to get this latest protection? Dosen't It come with it from install?
Any help greatly appreciated. (And I know Norton sucks (according to my brother in-law!)

New because you bought it recently doesn't mean up to date unfortunately due to the constant updating of virus databases and such.

Norton itself should give you a clicky button for clicking (surprisingly)for updating to the latest definitions or versions, failing that you should be able to download them and install them manually from the symantec site

Run the 'Liveupdate' function from the Norton menu page. As you have just installed it, you may need to do this two or three times to bring it bang up-to-date.

Many thanks guys, like you said stu, I went to their site and did a manual download. All is well.
A update button would be nice! Many thanks, Mark

Right click on the Norton icon in the notification area of your Windows task bar and then left click "Open Norton Protection Center". On the lower left corner of the protection center you will see "Quick Tasks", left click on "Run Live Update".
