Help! I'm trying to use the circular pattern wizard on Solidworks to create a set of 6 holes equally spaced (part of a hard disc drive - the bit that holds the platters down)

Only its asking me to select an angular dimension or a linear edge/axis to define the pattern.

Err I can't work that bit out! HELP!!

I remember having a similar problem with 1006, having come from Catia V5.

However we changed to 2007 within a week and that can do it easily.

I think the key is the placement of your first hole - you need to think about the polar array you're going to create and the info that it will need.

Try www.eng-tips.com - someone there will know the answer.

I've only just had chance to look at this - thanks for your help - I'll pop over there and ask for help.

I've placed the original hole on the top plane at 0 degrees and just got stuck from there.

Hey ho. Should work it out sooner or later
