I know that Dell do a laptop with the SIM built in. But does anyone else know of other brands that have that SIM slot so that i don't have to buy a new data card (longstory).
Trying to keep the budget below £1k.

thanks

I know some of the latest thinkpads do, I've been toying with the idea of an X61 myself

HP/Compaq 6710 does. The Samsung Q40 too, but that is a bit pricey.

Still not filtering down to lower priced machines are much as it should really. And you really should be able to get deals with the WISPS on laptops as you can with mobile phones (Expansys do this on a limited range of small devices).

If you are brave, and a laptop has a spare Mini-PCI slot, then it is doable yourself. The main trouble is finding somewhere to put the antenna that isn't shielded.

Bloody annoying that this technology is not more available, on smaller devices it is so so useful to have it on board.

thanks, i will take a look at them. I've had enough of having to swap sims between phones (the smartphone with 3G is pants when trying to use it for calls).
Or plugging in a phone to use as a modem.
Would rather just click and go.

cheers
