XP Laptop LAN Computer Name UNKNOWN?
Discussion
I've got a Dell Laptop with Win XP, the only problem is it can't see my other PC on my wireless network.
It can connect fine and browse the internet, however the it can't see my PC and my PC can't see it. They are both assigned to the same workgroup and each have computer names.
If I look at my router's diagnostics, in the "connected devises" it lists my PC's name, Mac address and it's (dynamically assigned) IP, however it list's the laptops Mac address and IP but the computer name is unknown even though it is set in windows :confussed:
Anyone know what's going on here?

Yeah, you need to run the 'Set Up A Home Network' to get the protocols sorted out. Then enable sharing on the drives you want to share. Make sure you've got appropriate firewall restrictions lifted - port 80, 25 etc are normally allowed by default, but network access may not be (it's not on Sygate for example, which I use).
