Single, control alt delete. See what's running and shut it down.. failing that, control alt delete again and re-boot.

Do you want to keep using MS any longer?

What about cleaning out you cache, and a restart. Might help!

Install ZoneAlarm a well as that doodad you're using at the moment - ZoneAlarm will tell you which program is trying to download something. It's a useful way to notice when/if you've caught spyware too...

Its installed already.

IT stops if I cancel the 'SVCHOST.exe' that is using the CPU the most.

Have you got the "Help and Support" service running? This is started and cant be permanently stopped when you run a search or press Help anywhere in XP. Its a real pain, but it restarts and it will query Microsoft for updates and helpful "hints"....

A bit crap really. Turn the service off and set its start up state to Disabled. Oh, and dont press Help again as it will restart it again...
