i went from FS to AOL, no probs, but I think it depends on your area. AOL were connecting everytime first time and didnt cut you off after 2 hours. I'm now on broadband though.

www.nomoreaolcds.com/

They make good beer coasters though.

Anymore suggestions for what to do with the spam mailed AOL CD's?

Did you download the new Freeserve connection kit they launched about 3 months ago? Since installing it I haven't had any problems getting in. It can take a couple of minutes but I can always get through.

Woo-Hoo I should be on broadband in October, can't wait!

Also use Freeserve Anytime and agree it often used to be a pain in the arse because you couldn't get connected, but it's been fine since they introduced the connection kit.

So if you haven't downloaded it yet, give it a try.

V21 is £9.99/month for 40 hours anytime per week.

Been with them for about a year and only some minor difficulties trying to get on line in the evenings occasionally.

yes already loaded the conection kit , works fine, my problem is getting cut off after 1 hour max (sometimes less ) then the only way to carry on without constantly loosing connection is to re-start the computer.

As much as it pains me to do so, I have to admit that AOL have been very reliable, the main thing being they don't cut you off. If you can live with the AOL browser in the background (just minimise it) then its ok
However, I think I'll change isp if/when our local exchange is upgraded to broadband - though that's unlikely to happen for a looong time

funniy enough I find the connection kit on freeserve worse than before .. I still use the old anytime number cos I've never had any problems with it, will only use the connection kit when they phase the old number out.
I use freeserve cos it's by far the best I've tried, and I've tried a few from line one/tiscali, virgin, bt and they're all absolutely rubbish compared to freeserve. Freeserve customer services are also excellent on the very few times I've had to use them .. very satisfied.

I'd say you either don't use it much, or not for long stints (The connection that is).I've just clocked 1 hour 20 so am expecting trouble shortly , ought to go to bed anyway , so there you go . just don't like a machine deciding for me thats all!
