I've just ordered a 16g sandisk cruzer from amazon for £15.99, I've seen a demo and thought it was a good idea.
Can't wait to faff about with it when it arrives; if your wondering what U3 is have a look http://www.u3.com/

This may come in handy: http://www.mydigitallife.info/2006/09/11/disable-r...

I prefer to control what software runs, so I disabled the U3 launchpad. I use portable apps to run things from the USB stick.

Thanks for the links, pen was delivered on saturday, been messing about with it, downloaded the free apps that I wanted and so far been quite impressed.

But like you say, most of the downloadable apps want you to sign-up or are shareware/nagware!
I can see quite quickly how I will swap over to portable apps launch control, for the moment though I'll just faff about with it.

Whats the best video player, VLC?

I use VLC, I've yet to find a format it can't cope with.

The thing that bugged me more than anything else with the U3 system was the time it took to get working. I want my USB stick memory to be quick and simple - plug in, copy files, pull out. U3 slowed that down, and it was also usually guaranteed that I picked the wring drive letter (as the U3 drive takes up two drives).
