Dropped my unfeasibly brittle N95 8gb today and of course the screen blasted itself into a million pieces.

Real shame cause actually liked that phone.

Anyway, with no phone insurance, Vodafone have given me the option of extending my contract for another year and grabbing another phone, but as Im not due for an upgrade for ages, Ive no idea what's out there.

Id like an iphone but sadly it does NOTHING that I need it to do and LOADS of things I dont need.

I need a very good camera, the ability to mms o/seas, WLAN would be good, largish screen and ease of use along the lines of the N95 rather than my work blackberry.

Any thoughts? Can anyone see a problem with being with Voda till March 2011? I know theyre not the cheapest but theyre unbeatable for coverage and customer service IMO.

Mods: Can this be left here instead of moved into the "Nokia Mobile phones that got broken today" forum? There's a wealth of phone experience here from folks not especially interested in them to go looking in a specialist place. Like many other things really...

I think its only 30 quid to get the screen replaced - i had mine done - just at one of those local phone shops rather than a branded one.

If your not sure about extending might be worth doing that.....

I would look to buy a replacement phone if yours can't be fixed. The problem with extending your tie in is that the packages are getting better

Looks like the n95 is selling for around £150 on ebay smile

if you go on www.blueunplugged.com you can buy a new screen yourself!

in fact

http://www.blueunplugged.com/p.aspx?p=121860

think they even sell the screwdrivers on here... worth tackling yourself

Make sure you dont buy the non 8gb screen as it is smaller though cheaper!!

Had the N95 for the past year with no problems, good phone. Just changed to the Sony Ericsson with the 8.1 camera. So far it seems a very good phone,to me its better than the N95, but thats just imo.
