Laptop Playing Up

My Dell laptop is playing up. Works fimne in the docking station but out of it just freezes solid.

I could of course call Dell (its at least 5 years old so well out of warranty) pay a fortune and return it to them for fixing. Alternatively anyone know a computer expert near Tunbridge Wells that could look at it for a reasonable fee, and say this is whats wrong, either pay £x and repair it or dump it?

If it has windows 2000 on it, the problem is more than likely a corrupt un-docked profile. Seen this loads of times with dell laptops and docking stations. Try Deleteing the undocked profile and creating a new one.
