which free movie player to download?

Right.
Had a message pop up telling me an update was available for my Windows Media Player, so pressed yes for the update.
Now, when I try to use the media player to watch a film I'm told it cant be validated due to my copy of windows not being, erm, proper...

So, I tried google and seems there are a few on there...anyone have any idea which one I should download?

The KMPlayer is good , a quick google should take you to the download page. I have it as my default player , plays absolutely anything , never has codec issues and has some good filters / settings etc to get the most out of the file you want to play
