OK, no saying iPhone, It's work's contract and they're on vodaphone. Frustratingly, the iphone is locked to Vodaphone here in Italy, but I don't think they'll go for it!

So, I need a new "business" phone. I want to be able to read emails and all that stuff. I like the idea of a touch screen as well, but it's not essential. the normal blackberry buttons look frustratingly tiney, but maybe I'm wrong about that. Also I really want bluetooth "beam-out" music for the car.

Go!

Also, is the 9000 bold so much better?

I have thumbs like sausages (ladies, take note) and I get on fine with the size of the buttons on my blackberry. Good phone, easy to use. If you are on PH all day the thumb roller can get a tad slow.

I've had a Storm for about 3 weeks and am slowly starting to really appreciate it. If you hold it horizontally the typing is a lot easier - but you still need to get used to it. I'm nearly there. Coming from a Nokia the menu system wasn't that intuitive, but you learn fairly quickly.

I just wasn't prepared to pay what O2 wanted for an iPhone, and Vodafone were willing to give me a Storm for nothing (on a fairly reasonable monthly rate too). Mainly use it for personal use but will be using it for work just as soon as our IT monkeys work out that it is actually possible.

What is this bluetooth music beaming thing? Can I do it on my Storm?

MX-5?

Or on a more serious note, a Nokia N97 or have you considered switching to a Windows Mobile? I have the Touch Pro 2 on Vodafone and it's fantastic.

Bold is an excellent device. Personally, I went for the Curve 8900 - same as the Bold in almost every single way except slightly slower data transfer speeds, which isnt a problem due to the very clever way in which it handles wifi. It is also quite a bit smaller.

Thanks for the replies everyone!

I've finally decided to try and get a Nokia N97. I really fancy a touchscreen (Gadget we!)
I decided to go for it over the storm due to:
Better camera
More memory
WiFi
Real keyboard (I assume some clever soul out there has also developed a software touchscreen version if I don't get on with it)
Apparently much better battery life.

Iwas concerned that it didn't have a proper headphone jack (My E50 needs an adapter) or it didn't have the bluetooth stream to car stereo function (to whoever asked, it's called A2DP and means I can connect the phone to my car stereo like an ipod, only wirelessly.)

I was (and am) a bit concerned about the OS, as I'm not a fan of the one in my current Nokia, I find it a bit slow, but I think it's worth the risk.

Still don't know if I'll end up getting it, I've offered to pay the difference if any over a normal "buttoned" blackberry like they have. Hope they go for it.

The storm's a close second!

Thanks again, Dan

Iphone, iphone, iphone.

Sorry but it's like saying "don't push that big red button". That button's getting pushed.

Dont forget that the N97 has got a built in FM Transmitter so you can play your music through any FM Radio! It's not as good quality, but good for convenience, if you're into that kind of thing. But it does have A2DP, I had one on trial before settling for my Touch Pro 2.

Have fun with it, the Symbian OS is good and loads of developers out there developing good apps.

I got a Storm a week ago and have really taken to it. The main thing I wanted was a phone that would integrate fully with my car' bluetooth and give me easy access to email on the go. It delivers on both counts, is not excessively heavy, and cost me £250 (new) notes off Ebay with a VAT recepit.

Keyboard is a little tricky at first, but starting to get better at it now. Altogether, its a neat and well built little device that goes into the pocket without being too heavy, and works as it should. I have started to downoad apps for it, and also synced it with my iTunes and downloaded music onto it. No doubt I will uncover more capabilities and uses for it as time goes by, but I like it.

@TUS - how did you sync with iTunes? I've just got a Storm and didn't realise you could do this...
